Yet the field of biospecimens has lagged behind virtually every other area of medical research.

In 2006, FasterCures launched BioBank Central, a Web portal to accelerate the discovery and development of new therapies by linking researchers with biospecimen resources, to encourage the donation of biospecimens, and to inform patients and the public about the irreplaceable role of biospeciments in research.
