The Future of Research with Human Biological Materials

There is great potential for improved human health in mining large collections of human biological material for research. This paper focuses on promoting ways to encourage donation of biobank materials for research, and supporting the careful collection, storage, and maintenance of specimens. It presents the research and patient communities with a few principles, not prescriptions, to consider in building and sustaining biobanking efforts.
