Cecilia O. Arradaza
Cecilia O. Arradaza is FasterCures’ Communications Director. She brings more than ten years of experience in health public relations and public affairs with special expertise in health policy, issues management, and media relations. Her expanded perspective of health care stems from nonprofit, foundation, and corporate settings, working on broad health policy issues. Among these are health care access, health disparities, health literacy, women’s & men’s health, mental health, and reimbursement and regulatory policies.
She comes to FasterCures from the Washington office of Chandler Chicco Agency (CCA), a pure-play global health public relations firm, where she worked on public affairs communications programs. At CCA, Cecilia’s clients included the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Commission to Build a Healthier America, VHA Inc, and Ortho Biotech. She also led the agency’s business development efforts.
Before joining CCA, Cecilia was at Hyde Park Communications, a specialty public affairs agency. At Hyde Park, she managed public affairs programs — from issues advocacy to third-party outreach and strategic positioning — for pharmaceutical companies, foundations, and nonprofit organizations. Her clients included the Sullivan Commission on Diversity in the Healthcare Workforce, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Community Voices: Healthcare for the Underserved initiative; and the Cosmetic, Toiletries and Fragrance Association’s Look Good…Feel Better program.
Previously, she was the Communications Manager at the American Psychiatric Association (APA) where she developed and executed communications and public education initiatives. At APA, she was the point person for national, regional, and medical trade media. Among the issues she worked on were parity, patient confidentiality, and practice management. Prior to joining the APA, she was with Powell Tate, another DC-based public affairs firm, where she worked on accounts for a number of corporate and nonprofit clients and foreign embassies.
Cecilia began her health communications career on the frontlines, handling patient education for the National Osteoporosis Foundation and through an internship with the National Women’s Health Network. She received her B.A. in Health Science from George Washington University at Mount Vernon College.
